Choosing a sensor

Choosing a sensor for your measurement point

Start with the exact point you need to measure and whether the sensor will touch an equipment surface or be inserted into a process medium. Describe the medium or atmosphere, normal and upset temperatures, available space for mounting, and any exposure the sensor must withstand. Include the sensor wiring and the input on your existing instrument or controller.

For a hot-runner heater, provide the tooling dimensions, heater fit and electrical connection separately from the thermocouple or other temperature sensor.

What to include with your enquiry
